DTA have achieved planning permission for the development of 10 luxury detached villas on a dramatic south facing site overlooking the river Clyde in Bothwell. DTA Achieve Planning Permission on Contentious Site in Bothwell.

DTA have achieved planning permission for the development of 60nr luxury apartments and penthouses on the site of the demolished Silvertrees Hotel in Bothwell following South Lanarkshire Councils decision at the planning committee meeting in November 2009.

The proposed 1.07ha site is located in the predominantly residential area in the southwest part of Bothwell, where Silverwells Crescent marks part of the boundry of the Bothwell Village Conservation Area. Lying just outside the conservation area, the proposed development sits comfortably within the immediate surroundings which cover a range of scales and types of building. The proposed elevations, fronting on to Silverwells Crescent, have been designed to respect the height of the large buildings opposite and key visual reference points.

Arranged in two blocks fronting onto the curve of Silverwells Crescent and occupying area of the site where the previous buildings stood, the new buildings will reinforce the streetscape down Mill Road, lost following the demolition of the hotel and annex.

DTA achieve planning permission for 40 social housing units in key area of Uddingston.

DTA Chartered Architects Ltd are delighted with the decision of South Lanarkshire Council to grant planning permission for the development of 40 social housing residences on the vacant site at Hornal Road, Uddingston.

The 1.7 acre brownfield site, which has lain empty for 40 years, is a priority project within the strategic housing infrastructure. The design of the dwellings and the site layout complies with the requirements of both the housing for varying needs design guidance and secured by design. The proposal will deliver affordable homes that benefit from sustainable planning, construction practises and materials.

'Controversial' application granted at Markethill Road.

Planning approval has been granted for the demolition of an existing dwelling and the erection of a 4580 sq ft house adjacent to one of East Kilbride's most exclusive streets.

Despite the interest of the local press because of the sites proximity to a listed building, the planning department agreed with DTA's assessment of the sites potential. Although a large dwelling in terms of the internal floor area, the house was designed to be in keeping with its neighbours and has the appearance of a large extended villa. Successful negotiations with the planners ensured that the client's aspirations and specific requirements could be met on what is in many ways a very restricted site.
