Cindy-Lou Ramsay

Talented local photographer and filmmaker, Cindy-Lou Ramsay has been very busy creating her popular series of calendars for 2018.

The Polo-Mint City and Glasgow's Nooks & Crannies capture the best of East Kilbride and Glasgow, showcasing well-known, and some lesser-known features of both places, with architecture, wildlife and nature the main focus.

Everyone at DTA was delighted to see our very own offices at 9 Montgomery Street not only included, but making it to the front cover of the calendar with one of Cindy's beautiful black and white images!

Both calendars are available direct from Cindy's website where you can also view and purchase more of her fantastic work, the East Kilbride branch of Waterstones, Chimes Gift Boutique here in the Village and the East Kilbride Arts Centre.  Notably, 10% of proceeds from the calendar sales are donated directly to the Lanarkshire & Glasgow South Parkinson's Group who provide a lifeline for patients and their families, and Cindy dedicates The Polo-Mint City and Glasgow's Nooks & Crannies to her Dad, Louis, who was a Parkinson's patient himself.

In early 2010, Cindy made a documentary, The Cinderella Disease, about Parkinson's with the aim of raising awareness and educating people about the degenerative condition.  The film highlights the current level of awareness amongst the general public and provides a very interesting, honest and informative insight into Parkinson's, from people with the disease, their families and medical specialists, deservedly leading to it receiving a top honorary mention from the World Parkinson Congress;
