BESPOKE RESIDENTIAL

Busby Road, Carmunnock

Located on the north western side of Busby Road, outwith the Carmunnock Village Conservation Area, the gap site is surrounded by a mixture of detached properties of varying scale and architectural styles.

DTA were appointed to create a residential development of 4 no. detached dwellings with garages and separate access driveways to reflect and complement the existing pattern of built development within the area.

The five bedroom properties offering luxury accommodation were designed to respect the local vernacular style within Carmunnock by the use of a combination of white render and stone, and landscaping scheme with additional hedge and tree planting implemented along the site frontage.

Millheugh Brae, Larkhall

DTA were asked by our client to design a residential development of 8 no. detached dwellings located in Larkhall, South Lanarkshire on a site previously used as a scrap yard and situated in an area with excellent links to local amenities.

Two different house types were created for the development with the new properties offering spacious modern and bright open plan accommodation over one and a half storeys and orientated to take advantage of the private views across the surrounding countryside, achieved by the use of substantial glazing and incorporating balconies. Existing mature trees and other natural features will be retained alongside new supplementary planting using native species which will enhance and promote biodiversity.

The Fairways, Strathaven

The site, which formed part of Strathaven Golf Club, looks to redevelop an area of unused land to create 18 no. dual aspect luxury two bedroom flats offering spacious accommodation over 3 no. individual three storey blocks.

The location of the proposed development allows for uninterrupted views across the golf course and as such, the design proposals maximise views over the surrounding landscape via large full-height glazing and private covered balconies to the rear elevation. The front elevation, instead, has more traditional style windows looking out on to the front landscaped gardens and private parking.

A new tree-lined entrance road will be formed to provide access to the development along with associated landscaping.

Sergeant's Mess 02.jpg

Sergeant’s Mess, Winston Barracks, Lanark

The Sergeant's Mess, formerly a regimental building within the Winston Barracks, is a substantial property originally constructed in the late 1930's and was home to the Cameronian Regiment from 1941 to 1968.
Externally the property is a bold and striking example of the "Old English" style, with architectural features such as sweeping Rosemary tiled roofs and heavily-detailed chimney stacks.
Careful consideration was given to the challenge of converting this building for residential use, the key aim being to respect the character and setting of the Listed Building whilst creating a luxury modern home.
