Greenhill, Burn Braes, Biggar

DTA recently submitted a Planning Application with South Lanarkshire Council for the conversion of the former Greenhill Covenanter’s House Museum in Biggar.

The 17th Century building was taken down stone by stone in 1975 and moved from its original location in Wiston to the beautiful setting of Burn Braes, closed as a museum several years ago and is currently in an unhabitable condition, but will now be converted and extended to create a family home by a local family subject to planning approval.

The property which lies within the Conservation Area of Biggar will be sympathetically restored externally and single storey extension with large glazing elements added, using a carefully considered selection of materials which importantly retains the traditional design, but also creates a modern aesthetic.
